We have been going to this hotel since 2004, and have never been disappointed, or had cause to complain. In our opinion, this hotel is perfectly located: get off the plane, onto a bus or in a taxi, and head for the beach. 5 minutes later, you are at the hotel. The taxi costs approximately 10 euros. It's also a short walk to the ferry, which takes you across the rio formosa to the town centre. The ferry runs approximately every 30 minutes and a return fare is 3.75 euros. The hotel itself is clean, friendly, excellent value and the food is extremely good, although I found the dessert portion to be too large for me. The only issue on this visit was that there was building work taking place on the bridge near the hotel. Had we known about this, we would have packed earplugs. Not the fault of the hotel though, and we will definitely be back. ~ Sue W

Ik vond dit echt een top hotel. De locatie is geweldig, aan het strand. Het ontbijt is wel wat karig maar acceptabel. De kamers waren wat ouderwets ingericht maar prima genoeg. De receptiemedewerkers waren zeer behulpzaam. Wij hebben voor weinig geld (weet het niet meer) een fiets kunnen huren en hebben we de omgeving verkend. De ferry naar Faro zit vlakbij en is echt een aanrader. Wij komen hier weer een keer terug! ~ Suzanne d

Septembrie 2024: This summer was strange. Inflation in whole Europe, yet not in Faro? Couldn't afford the whole summer a hotel room, just hostels rooms without air conditioning and where you sweated night and day. To finally manage to book a room here, 30 seconds from the beach and with air-conditioning was a miracle. I have read all the reviews and I can't say I totally agree: Is it old? Yes. Does it bother me? No. It is clean and the staff is extremely helpful and professional. Do they have buffet breakfast for just 8 euros? Yes they do 😁 For 340 euros for 3 nights in these hot temperatures, there is nothing more I can ask for. PS: you have a good view no matter what room is chosen. ~ Glodan M

I am here for arroz con marisco (seafood rice) every time when I come to Faro beach and always be surprised. It’s the first restaurant/ cafe you will see if coming to Faro beach. Tea and coffee is surprisingly big and affordable. Big pot of tea for €1. Sea food and meal of the day are unbelievable-good. Look at how may crab, shrimps etc can be in one pot and it’s a portion for 1 person! Grilled meat looks nothing special but on the contrary it was so juicy and tender. We love everything on the table. Good staffs and chill vibe in the restaurant add another pleasant experience on top of the trip to Faro. Will definitely go to this place every time whenever I come to Faro. ~ Yi L

Вечером можно встретить красивейший морской закат, ночью открывается вид на светящийся Фаро, утро начинается с наблюдения за взлетающими самолетами на фоне восхода солнца над речкой, а днём - пустынные идеальные пляжи с огромными волнами. ~ Марина М

Établissement très agréable avec un personnel au petits soins et parlant français. Hôtellerie simple, face à l'océan, dans la réserve naturelle du río Formosa, très bon ptit déjeuner, restauration snack ou traditionnelle très bonne . A cinq minutes de l'aéroport et sans les inconvénients de celui-ci. Immense plage de 5 kilomètres. Belles balades... ~ Stéphanie J

This is the type of place I imagine Ernest Hemingway would find to lay low for a while. A little weathered, which gives it character. Near the airport. Friendly staff. A block from the beach. Yet feels off the beaten path. Reasonably priced. And their café downstairs is the perfect place to get some work done. Not a party island - it was kind of desolate, which is exactly what I was looking for -- this is a good, spend-some-quiet-time-by-yourself type of place. BOLO for dogs on the southeast side of the island...I found them at 6 AM running, and they were none too happy I was passing through. You also will have to go into town to find groceries, etc. Saúde! ~ Phil

Einfaches, sauberes Hotel mir hinterem Blick auf den Fluss. Vorne heraus liegt die stark befahrene Straße, dann Promenade und Strand. Sehr zuvorkommendes, nettes Personal und sehr nette Besitzer. Schlichtes, ausreichendes Frühstück und einfache, leckere Gerichte im Restaurant. Uns hat es gefallen. ~ Rubina S

Sem dúvida alguma um local especial, localizado na ilha de Faro junto ao mar, com um serviço de excelência e com muita qualidade no alojamento. Neste hotel, alem de desfrutar do sol e da praia, pode também degustar refeições com elevada qualidade, no restaurante do hotel com esplanada para a ria formosa. Preços bastante acessíveis desde o alojamento às refeições. Aconselho e recomendo este local a todos sem excepção. Visite Faro, visite o hotel Aeromar ~ José V

Had a lovely time at Hotel Aeromar. The staff were helpful, friendly and patient. Although the hotel is dated it is not dirty like other people are saying. The breakfast was good value at 6 euros with plenty of choice. I had a couple of evening meals and enjoyed them both and reasonably priced.The price of the accommodation was good value for money. There are buses quite often from over the bridge into Faro via the airport. I was there for a week at the beginning of November and enjoyed the out of season quietness and the weather was good too. This hotel is excellent! Not fancy but super clean, super welcoming, super professional and great food! I had the best sleep and knew, as a woman on my own, the staff 100% had my back. It's literally opposite Faro beach, 5 mins from the airport and backs onto the waterway of a national park, which is enchantingly beautiful! I really cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. I will make this the spot for my first and last night of each trip to Faro. Thank you to the all the staff for giving me such happy memories of my last night of my first ever trip to Portugal. Hotel jest skromnie urządzony, ale na kilkudniowy wypad w sam raz. Jedzenie bardzo dobre, obsługa bardzo miła. Żeby dojść na plażę wystarczy przejść na drugą stronę ulicy i przejść przez pasaż handlowy (hola budek że zdjęcia). Byliśmy na początku czerwca, była bardzo mało turystów - w Albuferii były tłumy. Taxi z lotniska wyszła jakieś 9 euto, ale jest reż autobus którym można zabrać się na lotnisko lub do centrum miasta za jakieś 3 euro. ~ Malwina L

Excellent séjour. L'hôtel est idéalement placé au bord de la mer et à 1mn à pied du terminus de la navette aéroport. Le personnel a été vraiment serviable et aimable, et le restaurant était très bien pour le prix. Je conseille et je pense y revenir si j'ai l'occasion de passer un autre week end à Faro. excellent accueil, magnifique cataplana avec vue sur les salines, bon service chaleureux et souriant, bonne carte des vins de l'algrave, altentejo - hotel simple mais propre et fonctionnel avec taxi, navette de bus et à 1 min de la plage et 5 min de l'aeroport. ~ Christophe y

Wir waren äußert zufrieden mit diesem Hotel. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir hatten ein schönes renoviertes Zimmer, (aktuell werden die Zimmer neu renoviert und saniert). Im Restaurant konnten wir gut essen. Und waren rundum zufrieden. ~ Evodia

Z okna widok na ocean. Pokoje z tarasem, stolik, krzesła - cudowne miejsce na wieczorny relaks. Czysto, schludnie w pokojach, wygodne łóżko. Bezpłatny parking, komunikacja miejska w pobliżu, restauracje i bary wkoło ~ Bogdan K

Restauracja znajduje się kilka metrów od przystanku autobusowego. Zjedliśmy tu przepyszny obiad !!! Wybraliśmy Tourist Menu za 16 euro i szczerze porcja oraz smak nas powalił !!! Stanowczo polecam !!! 😊😊 ~ Diana

Kicsit régimódi, de tiszta, nagyon kedvesek. A reptér zaja behallatszik, de nekünk nem volt zavaró. Az étterem és a terasza a lagunákra néz, minden napszakban elvarázsol. Bármikor visszamennénk! ~ Bt. R

Solo estuve dos veces en el restaurante , pero repetimos.... Muy buena comida con vistas extraordinarias varias en un emplazamientos de lujo al pie de la playa de Faro. Muy atentos y buen precio. Aunque anticuado., creo que merece la pena ~ Jesús G

Lovely, friendly family run hotel with very yummy food. The bed was comfortable and we had a room with a balcony and seaview which was especially nice. We all loved our time here and I will be coming back for a proper holiday here. Plymouth university has been having their yearly marine biology field trip at this hotel for 20 years and I can see why. Great owners, great staff, beautiful location. Thank you! Xxx ~ Bacon K

Bons quartos , ótimo estacionamento , virado para o mar ou para a ria formosa , preço normal , valor do pequeno almoço 7€ acho exagerado nem sequer é buffet , tirando isso , recomendo ! ~ Alberto M

Es gibt hier eine große Dachterrasse mit Sitzmöglichkeiten die scheinbar niemand kennt einfach die Treppe an der Rezeption ganz hochgehen. Die Tür oben ist immer offen. Viel Spaß.... ~ Eric

Thank you so much for being so attentive to us, we really enjoyed our stay. The only thing I wanted to mention as a negative is a taxi driver on the way back, he didn't turn the meter on and charged us triple price to the airport (the way to the hotel was 6 euro, the way back was 25 euro), please don't call this taxi driver anymore as he is a scammer! ~ Oksana P
